10.01.2025

As part of the winter semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, the "Contemporary Issues in Business Management" course within the Master's Program in Business Management offered a comprehensive learning experience, addressing sustainability from various perspectives. The course, co-taught by Prof. Dr. Ela Sibel Bayrak Meydanoğlu and Prof. Dr. Paul Lagner, was enriched not only by theoretical foundations but also by practical examples from the business world.

The Siemens Türkiye House of Sustainability team, including Gülşah Öztürk, Bige Yücel, Aslı Kunur, Hale Çakır, Erkan Noyan, Umut Pehlivan, Banu Özyalçın, and Elvan Arıksoy, participated in the lectures, contributing valuable knowledge and experience. The practical examples and case studies they shared effectively demonstrated the importance and applicability of sustainability in practice to the students. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their contributions.

Concluding on January 9, 2025, this course emphasized that sustainability, in the context of business management, is a necessity shaping the future for both individuals and organizations. By providing students with both theoretical and practical insights, the course aimed to equip them as future leaders with a consciousness of sustainability and to show them how to bring this awareness into action.

With the principle, "Sustainability is a critical necessity not only for businesses but for all of humanity", this course provided students with both academic and professional perspectives. This essential component of the program established a solid foundation that will illuminate the students' future success.
